I am Sarah, an artist based in Birmingham, UK. I began taking on tile commissions for people’s homes and discovered how much I loved making tiles. It brought together my loves for surface pattern design and functional art. You can find out more about my art practice here.

How are they made?

I make each tile by hand using plaster moulds and stoneware clay. I fire them to a high temperature to ensure they’re waterproof and durable for years to come.

Can you make a custom design?

Hell yes, I specialise in designing tiles in collaboration with you, making them for custom spaces. You can choose any size, colour combination and glazed/unglazed.

What’s the process?

After an initial meeting I send you three designs to choose from. Following this I’ll work up a final design, then make up a sample tile to check colours and glaze finish. Then I get into production mode and make your tiles from start to finish.

What do I need to know about technical specifications?

As each tile is handmade there is a 2mm tolerance per tile.

How much is it?

Each project is different depending on your requirements (eg glazed or unglazed, and the size of your tile). However I use high end tile companies as a benchmark for costings. Sunday Tiles are high end tile, but low cost artwork. You can email me for a quote:
